Join Kevin Tolan, the Grassland Bird Outreach Coordinator at the Vermont Center for Ecostudies, for a morning learning about grassland birds and grassland habitat management in Vermont.
Grassland birds are the most drastically declining bird community in the continental United States. In the face of this decline, there are opportunities for landowners to support breeding grassland birds on their properties. Whether you are a landowner or simply interested in grassland bird conservation, come learn about grassland bird ecology, management strategies for grassland landowners, and conservation efforts going on in Vermont.
We will meet at Lagoon Road in Hinesburg on Saturday morning 8/15 at 9 AM (in person!) to learn from Kevin and see what birds we can find. There are limited slots available, so please sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0449ACAE2BA6FC1-grassland
as soon as possible! You'll be required to take your temperature before leaving home, not show any symptoms of illness, and wear a mask the entire time. We will have some hand sanitizer available for use on your arrival and before you depart. Bring your binoculars if you have them! Brought to you by the Hinesburg Conservation Commission and Vermont Center for Ecostudies or to Kevin Tolan at ktolan@vtecostudies.org.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me or to Kevin at ktolan@vtecostudies.org.
