Join us this Thursday August 6th - Sunday August 9th for outdoor viewing of the critically acclaimed series "When They See Us". Written and directed by Ava DuVernay, this series tells the story of the Central Park Five. If you haven't heard this story yet, the Central Park Five are a group of boys who were falsely accused in 1989 and who spent years maintaining their innocence and fighting for justice. Exonerated in 2002 and reaching a settlement with New York City in 2014, the struggle of the Central Park Five sheds light on the issue of systemic racism in America and on the daily fight for Black life.
Please join us to watch this powerful story as we continue elevate Black life and continue the conversation around systemic racism. This series is available streaming on Netflix/online so come for one or all four nights — if you miss one you can catch up online!
Movie will start at 8:30 and each episode is about an hour long! Make this a event for you and your family! This is a powerful story for high school kids and college aged adults. This story features boys between the ages of 14-16.
