Virtual 5k Run, Jog, Walk Marks Suffrage Centennial!
Run, walk, stroll or roll August 8th - 15th to commemorate 100 years of the 19th Amendment securing the right to vote for women!

Complete those 3 miles on the route of your choice and pace between Saturday August 8 - Saturday August 15th: primary week in Vermont (and don't forget to vote). Document your 5K on your phone, watch or other device. Submit your results to be eligible for prizes and freebies from our sponsors UnTapped and Cabot Creamery Cooperative.

A fee of $20 for individuals includes, while they last, a "Votes for Women—Votes for All" commemorative sash to wear during your run/walk. You can also pull together a team of family, friends, or colleagues to get a discounted rate of $17-18, depending on the number of participants. Register soon, https://cvrunners.org/cvr-races/suffrage-scramble, to get your sash before August 8.

Although women got the vote in 1920, Black women were frequently denied the vote until the Voting Rights Act of 1965. People of color had to fight for their right to vote free from legal restrictions, intimidation and threats of violence, a struggle that continues to this day. Suffrage Scramble proceeds and donations will benefit the Rutland chapter of the NAACP to support voter registration, education, and access for communities of color.

The 5K Suffrage Scramble Virtual is presented by Central Vermont Runners and Vermont Suffrage Centennial Alliance. We thank you for your support.
