Mark the Women's Suffrage Centennial (1920-2020) with a virtual Suffrage Scramble 5k! Walk, run, roll, or stroll any day during Primary Week, August 8-15. Register solo or with a team of friends, family, or colleagues - wearing masks and social distancing of course! Participants choose their own location, date, and route, and document their 5k sending in the results to be eligible for prizes and freebies from sponsors like UnTapped and Cabot Creamery Co-operative. Event proceeds and donations go to the Rutland Area branch of the NAACP to help fund efforts to expand voter registration and education. NAACP Rutland is dedicated to the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminating race-based discrimination in Vermont. A fee of $20 for individuals (with discounts for teams), includes, while they last, a commemorative sash "Votes for Women—Votes for All" to wear during the event. The Suffrage Scramble 5k is presented by Central Vermont Runners in partnership with the Vermont Suffrage Centennial Alliance.
