https://www.stowevibrancy.com/events/gardens-of-stowe/
A complete packet for the self-guided tour will be emailed to each Guest the day before the event.
Enjoy lunch before or after your tour at StoweFlake's Charlie B's OR Green Mountain Sushi at Bistro at Ten Acres! Both are offering a 20% discount to Garden Tour Guests. Reservations are required, and you must mention the Tour for the discount.
The "entertainment" this year features artists placed in specific gardens. Their on-site works will be generously donated to an online silent auction after the event. You won't want to miss this opportunity to watch artists at work, then bid on your favorite pieces to add to your own art collection, or to give as special gifts.
Here's a portion of one gardener's bio:
Our home sits on 10+ acres looking at Mt Mansfield with a stream fed pond and mature orchard of apple and pear trees.
We raised our four children in New York state, and spent as much time as possible as a family here in Stowe. I have recently retired and we are now living here most of the year. We are blessed to have our children and five grand children visit as often as possible. They call me the grounds superintendent as I seem to always have out a blower, trimmer, rake, mower or broom … helping maintain the property is both my passion and hobby and something I've enjoyed doing since my youth.
And here is a bio of one of the artists:
I have been involved with art since high school, but discovered watercolors in 1989 while waiting for a friend at a train station. A plein aire artist was painting there with watercolors, and I was mesmerized. I chatted with the artist, who queried, "What color is the grass? What color are the trees?" A deeper conversation revealed an appreciation
I had previously taken for granted. Returning home, I took art classes, which led to world wide "art vacations" where I spent time studying with Tony Couch, Bob Wade, Tony Van Hasslett, Ron Ransom, and more. When I paint plein air, I get into the zone. I let the water on the paper do the painting. Time just goes on without me.
