South Burlington Democrats Nominating Meeting – Justices of the Peace for November ballot

Where: Virtual Meeting – email cashaw@post.harvard.edu for password/link When: Monday, August 10th at 6:30pm Who: South Burlington Democratic Committee members or registered SB voters not with another party.

Why: To nominate candidates to appear on the November 2020 general election ballot for the 2-year term of Justice of the Peace. These terms begin Feb 2021 and run through Feb 2023.

What: A Justice of the Peace registers voters, handles ballots, tallies/verfies votes, hears tax abatement requests, hears property appraisal appeals, can perform weddings and can serve as a notary. Normally, we would hold an in-person nominating meeting but will meet online for this year.
