Project READ's Bookwagon will be at the Starksboro Public Library on Saturday, August 8th. We will have the Bookwagon books outside for Starksboro youth to look through from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. If someone else is already looking, there are chairs on the path where you can wait your turn.
Let's help each other stay safe! Both kids and their caregivers are required to wear masks, use hand sanitizer, and let their hands dry before looking through the books. Children do not need to be present to pick books, but we do know kids really do like to choose. Youth will have the chance to pick out several books to keep -- what we're calling our "short stack!"
If you can't make any of these dates/times and are a young person living in Starksboro, we still want to get you books! You or your caregiver can either call Catherine (you can reach her/leave a message @ the library 802-453-3732) or send an email at starksboropl@comcast.net. We store the Project READ! Books at the library, so Catherine can help you choose a stack of books for your summer reading. We can deliver or offer curbside.
Project READ!! is an all-volunteer organization made up of community members, parents, and teachers committed to promoting the love of reading in our town of Starksboro. Project READ!! depends on community support for our programs. If you'd like to purchase $10 raffle tickets for a Vermont Folk Rocker chair, our annual fundraiser, you can do so at the Starksboro Public Library or by being in touch with Mary O'Brien at maryovt@yahoo.com or 802-453-4921. Donations or raffle ticket money may be sent to Mary at 2886 Vermont Route 116, Starksboro, VT 05487. Thanks, everyone, for your support! And thank you Jim Geier for donating the Vermont Folk Rocker chair for our raffle again this year.
