Past event
Jul 24, 2020, 1 to 3 PM

Vermont Youth Conservation Corps is proud to invite the local community to join the Water Quality Crew at Hubbard Park in Montpelier. Come hear from four young adults dedicated to improving the park's trails and preventing harmful runoff through much needed erosion control. They want to share with you what they have learned, and show you what they have accomplished this summer.

Please join us at the New Shelter in Hubbard Park: https://www.montpelier-vt.org/242/Park-Features

Here is a link to the EventBrite invitation: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/vycc-crew-meet-up-at-hubbard-park-tickets-112469076034. Please sign up for the event as the organizers need to track the number of attendees to be sure people can be safely distanced and still hear speakers.

Stick around after for an informative workshop about storm water management and water quality hosted by experts from VYCC, Lake Champlain SEA Grant, Friends of the Winooski River, and others. This "Walk and Talk" will discuss water quality challenges in the Winooski River Watershed and explore current efforts to manage storm water runoff within Hubbard park specifically.

This event is being presented by several of the organizations that were so instrumental in creating the wonderful Rain Garden at VSECU - it's bound to be full of information we can all use to help maintain the water quality of our rivers, manage water runoff in our own yards, and also it's an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon outside in Hubbard Park!
