Join Indivisible Mad River Valley on July 29 from 5 to 6 pm via Zoom for a candid discussion about American diplomacy in a dishonest age with former US diplomat and Rochester, Vermont resident Elizabeth Shackelford. In her recently released book, The Dissent Channel:American Diplomacy in a dishonest Age, Shackelford makes policy and politics come alive. And in navigating both American bureaucracy and the fraught history and present of South Sudan, she conveys an urgent message about the devolving state of US foreign policy.
The book is an easy reading first person account written to help readers feel as though they are in LIzzy's shoes. To assure rich discussion, attendees are encouraged to read the book in advance and jot down their questions for Lizzy. Details on how to purchase the book at a discount will be provided upon registration.
This event is the second of three hosted by Indivisible Mad River Valley in the next several weeks to create awareness and inspire action leading up to the general election in November. It is free and open to the public; registration is required. No experience necessary to join via Zoom. SIGN UP HERE: https://tinyurl.com/imrv-dissent-channel
