OCDC July 19 Vi and Ned Coffin Memorial Online Forum for Vermont Dem. Primary Gov./LT Gov. Candidates
The Orange County Democratic Committee will be holding a first-ever online Vi and Ned Coffin Memorial Forum for Vermont Democratic Primary Candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor on Sunday, July 19, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
In the past the Forum has been held in the Strafford Town House. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will be broadcasting the gathering via Zoom and other online media. The first hour will be the LT Governor forum and the second hour will be the Gubernatorial forum. The forum will be moderated by Don Hooper, former Vermont Secretary of State from 1993 to 1995.
The Zoom Forum link will be sent to the first 75 RSVPs.

Invited Democratic Candidates for Governor:
• Rebecca Holcombe, former Vermont Education Secretary, former district leader, former teacher, former director of Dartmouth teacher education program, and small business owner.
• Patrick Winburn, Bennington attorney
• David Zuckerman, Lieutenant Governor of Vermont, former member of the Vermont Senate, former member of the Vermont House of Representatives, organic farmer, businessman
Invited Democratic Candidates for LT Governor:
• Tim Ashe- Current president pro tempore of the Vermont Senate and Democrat/Progressive senator representing the Chittenden District, former Burlington city councilor.
• Molly Gray- Assistant attorney general in the criminal division of the Vermont Attorney General's Office, teaches night classes at her alma mater Vermont Law School.
• Debbie Ingram- State senator representing the Chittenden District since 2017, executive director of Vermont Interfaith Action, ordained minister in the United Church of Christ.
• Brenda Siegel- Founder of the Southern Vermont Dance Festival, sought the Democratic nomination for governor in 2016, activist with organizations including Rights and Democracy and the Raise the Wage Coalition.
The Moderator for the Forum is former VT Secretary of State Don Hooper. Until his retirement in 2018, Don Hooper was the Regional Representative of the National Wildlife Federation where he worked on mutual initiatives with NWF affiliates, the Vermont Natural Resources Council, the Environmental League of Massachusetts and the Natural Resources Council of Maine. The Hooper family of Brookfield founded and ran the family business, the Vermont Creamery, for more than three decades until it was acquired by Land O' Lakes.
