LAUNCH OF SUNDAYS FOR EQUITY AND JUSTICE
SAINT ALBANS, VERMONT - Brought together by grief and outrage over the death of George Floyd and so many others at the hands of law enforcement, Franklin County for Equity and Justice has planned an intention-setting and skill sharing Sunday in Taylor Park. With the understanding that none of us are free until all of us are free and that all of our liberation is interdependent, Franklin County for Equity and Justice has gathered faith leaders, political activists, business owners, and neighbors. We will be hearing from people directly impacted by racism about their experiences and vision for the future. This gathering is Intended to be the first in a series of regular Sunday events that are part skill building and education and part healing and reflection. Our intention is to build a purposeful, broad based community where individuals can speak truth to power and create positive change at this moment in history.
A live stream of the vigil will be available on Facebook, while masks will be available for those who choose to attend in person. We ask that all who attend to take the necessary precautions to keep themselves and community safe. Please see state guidelines: https://www.healthvermont.gov/response/coronavirus-covid-19 If you are unable to participate in person and wish to make a sign or write a statement to be shared, please contact David Glidden gliddend123@gmail.com 802-377-2679 .
