Hello Neighbors!
Happy Interdependence Day weekend upcoming!
Everyone is warmly invited to peacefully gather in downtown Springfield on Friday for a weekly vigil to express support for the Movement for Black Lives. We meet near the bus stop in front of the movie theater. Please wear masks & practice social distancing during the vigil so that we can protect each other during the pandemic.
We come together as beloved community to bear visible witness to the systemic racism that permeates our society. It is particularly important at this moment in our national history that we fully acknowledge and come to terms with the centuries of extreme violence and institutionalized injustice directed at BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color).
Bearing witness in public can have profound societal and personal impact, and can be a heartfelt way of extending these conversations about democracy out into the wider community.
If you wish, bring signs expressing support for racial justice.

Fourth of July reminds me that we are all together in our wish to have life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness with equal protection under the law.
With gratitude and wishes for everyone to remain safe and enjoy family, friends and Vermont summertime ease and joy this holiday weekend...
