Please join the Rochester Town Democratic Committee at 6:30 pm on July 9 for a discussion with Tabitha Pohl-Moore, who was raised in Rochester but left in 1989 at age 12 to escape racism in a small, white town. Tabitha has dedicated her career to addressing systemic racism here in Vermont, which is far more persistent and damaging than many of us realize or admit. She is now president of the Rutland chapter of the NAACP.
Tabitha will share the challenges of her experience growing up in the Valley, how systemic racism affects minorities in Vermont every day, and what changes in policy and governance are needed now to begin to address it. Come ready to take action. Tabitha has ideas to share with us on that too.
