ALL are invited to gather this Sunday, April 13th from 2:00-4:30 in the Starksboro Public Library to join in on a conversation on community wind power. The Starksboro Conservation Commission will serve as the host of this Wind Power forum in the round. The Commission neither proposes nor opposes the generation of electricity from wind power. The SCC’s goal in inviting folks into a community conversation is to gain a better understanding of how wind power facilities may in the future intersect with town planning.
SCC Co-chair, Matt Witten writes “We are choosing to be pro-active so that we can perhaps be less reactive should wind power facilities be proposed. It seems a relatively small effort to look ahead now so that we might maximize the possible benefits and minimize the possible drawbacks of hosting wind towers in the future, if that is to be the case”.
We look forward to having folks come to join in on the conversation this Sunday, April 13th from 2:00-4:30 at the Starksboro Public Library. Refreshments will be served. Jan McCleery, SCC Co-chair.
