Community Bakes - Curbside!

The Johnson Community Oven Committee intends to continue to make FREE PIZZA for the community, beginning on July 6th through August!

Although the collaboration of neighbors making pizzas and gathering in an outdoor setting are both aspects that define our unique initiative, we are shifting our scope to continue to feed our community!

Here's how it will work:

The committee members will be masked, and the volunteers handling the finished pizza will be gloved and masked. The committee member who is working most directly with the public will maintain the six foot distance necessary to stay safe, and pedestrians are asked to be masked. Everyone involved is asked to stay home if they are feeling symptomatic or are caring for someone who is experiencing symptoms of Covid-19.

All pizzas will be put in disposable, new boxes.

Pizzas will be ready for pick up during our normal hours (5:30-7). We will still support Sterling Market and Foote Brook Farm by purchasing our toppings from our local store/farm, and we will continue to use Elmore Mountain dough (who will be donating half of it to our cause!).

Community Members can either drive or walk over to get their FREE PIZZA.

If ordering by car, vehicles are asked to pull up curbside to the oven. The pizza runner will approach the vehicle to ask which pizza they would like and the name of the order.

When an order is ready, we will have a table on the opposite side of the oven where the finished product will be placed and a name will be written on the box(es). We will place the pizza(s) down, signal to the pedestrian/car that their dinner is ready, and only when there is distance between the pizza and the pizza runner, the person can retrieve their meal.

We SO look forward to feeding you pizza this summer!
