Hello, Neighbors -
I am joining in a peaceful gathering of solidarity with the Movement for Black Lives on this coming Saturday (06/20/20) at 2pm across from Jolly's. Will you join me? It will be hot, so you may want to bring water - and bring a sign, if you can. Sign ideas include: Black Lives Matter, Stand Against Racism, We Must Do the Work of being Anti-Racist. We will practice social distancing and wear face masks. Please see the info immediately below from a Jericho FPF posting. If you are from Cambridge, Westford or Bolton, would you please re-post the information to your neighborhood FPF under the category "Events." Thank you. See you Saturday!

Solidarity Gathering for Movement for Black Lives
Giovanna Lepore • Jeri-Hill Lane, Jericho
Event: Jun 20, 2020, 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Gather at the intersection of VT.15 and River Road, Jericho from 2-3pm, Sat., June 20, 2020 to stand in solidarity with people of good will across the nation for justice for people of color.
This coming Friday is Juneteenth, a day that honors Black freedom and Black resistance and centers Black people's unique contribution to the struggle for justice in the U.S.
This coming weekend, June 19-21, the Movement for Black Lives is asking us to show up in the streets to continue the fight for Black lives with three demands: defund the police, invest in Black communities, and call for the resignation of Donald Trump.
In cities all across the country, this movement is forcing an urgent conversation about shifting massive spending away from policing that doesn't keep us safe and reinvesting it in a shared vision of community safety, living-wage jobs, schools, housing, and healthcare. With Trump continuing to perpetuate white supremacy from the White House and calling for violence, we must continue rising up for Black, Brown and Indigenous lives.
Time to tear down those walls of prejudice.
