Please join us for an hour of silent meditation or prayer this Sunday at 1 PM outside at the St Johnsbury Athenaeum. Rain Date: The following Sunday.
As many of you may know, 25 or 30 of us meditated for an hour on the Athenaeum lawn last week the day after the bigger protest in St J. Many people found it to be a rewarding experience and wanted to do it again, maybe on a regular basis. The response from the general community felt very positive as well.
Here is a link for some pic's and video that were taken before we got started.

I see the protests and our sitting in public to be interconnected, to be not only about racism but also about the environmental crisis, gun violence, and the agenda of much of the current administration's policy in Washington. It's also an opportunity to sit in a group which we haven't done in a long time.
Please bring a sign or poster if you would like to express your feelings, I plan to bring my sign that says "COMPASSION NOT DOMINATION" However, I request that you refrain from any message that is aggressive.
There are a few benches, but to keep social distancing you may want to bring a chair or cushion to sit on.
Please forward/share this to all your friends, clergy, congregations, etc.
Hope to see you there!
