MMU Rolling Graduation Celebration Tomorrow

Past event
Jun 13, 2020, 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Greetings neighbors,

The "rolling celebrations" for the MMU Class of 2020 are a go! MMU has scheduled graduation for tomorrow, Saturday, June 13 at 10 AM at the high school. So, that means the "rolling celebrations" will commence some time between 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM.

The "rolling celebration" is being organized as a recessional from the MMU graduation. A parade-like event, this "rolling celebration" will take graduates and their families on a route through their hometowns led by local fire departments - and possibly other first responders and town vehicles - to acknowledge the celebration that just concluded.

Maps of the Parade Routes can be accessed through these links:

What can you do?
Blue and white yard signs with Cougar paws and other visual representations of MMU sprinkled around the towns of Bolton, Huntington, Jericho, Richmond and Underhill would do a lot to add to this celebration. Consider standing on the side of the road, starting around 11:30 AM - practicing physical distance and wearing masks - to cheer for these young people as they embark on the next leg of their journey.

Good places to watch and SAFELY participate:

Jericho Center:
Four towns will be passing by this location. Parking is available at the Jericho Community Center - please consider NOT parking alongside the Green. Signs and visual well wishes can be left in the Green and along the two, log fences leading to Jericho Center.

Richmond/Bolton/Huntington:
All three of these towns will be passing by the entrance to CHMS and RES, and through the Four Corners area. Please be mindful of parking in front of businesses along Bridge Street - additional parking is available behind Holy Rosary Church, CHMS and RES parking lots.

Underhill - Park Street and Underhill Center:
The Underhill route will roll along Park Street and then through Underhill Center.

Bolton graduates will be following a Bolton fire truck from MMU to downtown Richmond via Browns Trace Rd/Jericho Rd, then turning onto Route 2 toward Bolton. The procession will end at the Bolton Fire Department.
