This is a protest and a call to action! We are gathering to call for the increase in education and awareness of the continual oppression and discrimination against black people in America. We also want to provide a safe space to grieve and reflect on the lives that have taken as a result of police brutality. The day will include a walk through downtown to the Park, two moments as we remember Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and the too many other black lives taken too soon. We will end the event with a car parade back through town for anyone who cannot attend due to COVID-19 concerns or restrictions. There will also be a lineup of speakers including local black community members, black RUHS alumni, and black students, ending with promoting black artists, businesses, and community members throughout the state and country.
We will also have a voters registration table for any just turned eligible youth or anyone else who may need to register to VOTE.
Please wear black in solidarity. Bring signs, many people, and your voices. It is time to call out ourselves and each other. We ask you to join us to vocalize and demand the end of years of injustice against black people in this country and in our own communities. โ๐ปโ๐ผโ๐ฝโ๐พโ๐ฟ
