The Emerald Ash Borer is an invasive insect that has recently been found in Grand Isle County. Based on reports from other infested states, we are expecting devastating affects on our ash-dominant forests in the Islands. However, there is much we can do to slow the spread and protect our woods.
Join this evening webinar to learn all about the invasive Emerald Ash Borer and what we can do in response. Topics will include: An EAB overview and expected impact in our county; EAB identification & how to tell if your ash trees are infected; How it spreads and what you can do to slow it; Options for treating your ash trees with herbicides; Information for residential and private forest landowners; The latest research on EAB; Ash tree resistance; A Q&A session; And more. Hosted by the Grand Isle County Emerald Ash Borer Task Force. Co-hosted by South Hero Land Trust and the Grand Isle County Natural Resource Conservation District
Speakers:
Bill Baron, Task Force Chair
Nancy Patch, Grand Isle County Forester
Ginger Nickerson, UVM Extension
