Today at 5 pm, there is a call to please stop where you are for 8 minutes and 46 seconds (this is the length of time that the police officer who murdered George Floyd had his knee on his neck, suffocating him as he plead for his life) in honor of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and all those who have been killed by systemic racism and poverty. For those who live and work in downtown Hardwick, please come out onto main street so our acknowledgement and mourning can be visible.
