Grange: Zoom with Rural VT on Local Food

Past event
Jun 6, 2020, 5 to 6 PM

The ongoing pandemic crisis has made us all appreciate local food suppliers. Rural Vermont has been promoting local agriculture, the health of the rural economy and the interests of farmer and consumers since 1985.

On Saturday evening, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, the Capital City Grange will hold the next in its series of Zoom programs--this time with Rural Vermont's Policy Director. Graham Unangst-Rufenacht has years of experience with Rural Vermont, and as a working farmer--he co-owns Robinson Hill Beef, and a design-build business called Walking Onion. He will tell us about Rural VT's efforts to support farmers, providing more direct access to markets and consumers, and how the Coronavirus crisis has highlighted the need to reduce our dependence on multi-national corporations to bring us food from agro-industrial suppliers located far away. There will be time for discussion after his presentation; we hope you will join us!

The Zoom link is posted at our website: http://capitalcitygrange.org/event/500-600-main-hall-program-interest-everyone-everyone-welc[...]06/, along with more info about Rural VT and Graham. Questions? Call Tim Swartz: 802-225-8921
