Honor Their Names Peaceful Protest

Past event
Jun 7, 2020, 12 to 2 PM

Just wanted to post for anyone interested!

This is a peaceful protest that will start at 12pm this Sunday the 7th at the State House Lawn in downtown Montpelier. Together we want to raise awareness about what is going on in our country regarding police brutality against black people, while also holding a safe space to grieve the lives that have been lost and continue to be lost to this day. We want to recognize black art from speakers around the state while also paying tribute to families that have been affected by the recent unjust murders. The day will include poster making, poetry, music, a lineup of speakers around the state, such as Rajiin Eddins, an open mic for black voices, and a walk/drive-by protest downtown. If you attend, you must come in a mask and remember to follow the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. We want to stay safe and lift up the people in our community that are hurting. Please wear black in solidarity. Let us all join together and demand change. Bring signs, more people, and anything that makes a ton of noise.
