This month was long and we are reaching the end. During this pandemic, Vermonters are turning to each other for help and we are heeding the call.
This Saturday, the New North End Food Pantry and community organizers, will be at the New North End Food Pantry (9 am to 11 am at 1416 North Ave.) handing out 200 bags of groceries. Each grocery bag will have a gallon of milk, a dozen eggs, bread, pasta, a jar of Bove's sauce. We will also hand out gift cards to Hannafords and 200 face masks. No ID, questions, or paperwork required.
This month's delivery was arranged by a true community effort. We received a substantial donation by the Burlington Schools' Boosters organizations in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. We want to honor and thank our teachers and their support and administrative staff for going the extra mile in educating our children. Let your teachers know how much you appreciate and need them.
We also thank the Elks Lodge 916 for their food drive that was a great success and delivered an entire truck of food to the Pantry. Bove's, Inc. and the Bove's family also donated their pasta sauce, which is an essential item to any parent's pantry.
Come get food or just say hi or, if you can, drop-off any shelf-stable nutrient dense food. Any monetary donations can be mailed to 1416 North Ave. with the check made in the name of the New North End Food Pantry. Thank you to all those who have donated.
