Middletown Springs 51st Annual Memorial Day Observance

Past event
May 24, 2020, 2:55 to 3:05 PM

Dear Residents of Middletown Springs (and anyone else!)

This Sunday, May 24, 2020 we are going to hold a very different Memorial Day observance for our town. We, the Ad Hoc Parade Committee, request that you stay at your house observing social distancing. We will have a small group of people at the Community Church of Middletown Spring's green who will honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice, either with their direct service in battle or veterans who have died.
We will follow the same (rough) schedule that we usually follow. If you would like to take part remotely it is our intention to broadcast a live stream shortly before 3PM on Facebook using Bob Bruttomesso's page/account.

Here is the order of events, beginning at 3:00 PM.

We invite you to sing the The Star Spangled Banner at 3:00 PM. While we sing the national anthem, the flag will be lowered from half mast, inspected and then raised to full mast. At the conclusion of that, if possible, there will be a gun salute. Immediately following the gun salute, we will have the playing of taps.
