This Saturday, April 12, is the annual Spring bake sale at the Greek Orthodox Church on Ledge Road - you know, by the thing some call a rotary. Come say hello to Nectar and eat some hand-made Baklava. Order your dinner and eat in our hall or go have a picnic in your car. Do it. Why? The super-special-Greek-rice recipe has been faithfully passed-down to our Ukrainian brother and he has taken the oath of silence and has continued the tradition with perfection. His mastery was proven during the Fall bake sale and last year's Greek Festival. Incidentally, the upcoming Summer festival is held same time and same place - ALWAYS the last Sunday in July ...I'll let you determine the date. Also, we have a new priest - Father Ephraim Ehrs, the dude is Swedish! He is into organic gardening. He has been assigned to lead our flock in Burlington from the high Patriarch in Boston - Is this not perfect?!? So, you see, we are more than just a bunch of food-frenzied Greeks! ...and let's face it, the food prices are still way too low! Many of the older Greeks own ...or have owned restaurants. Like, 1000 years ago! They seem to think we need to give the customer a good deal. Personally, I think we should raise the prices and go upscale: Burlington--$tyle! So look, who knows how much longer this treasure will exist? We have in our midst a cultural celebration of heritage that we should tend, and attend.
