The annual COTS Walk raises money and awareness about families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in our community. The 3-mile walk begins at Battery Park and winds through downtown, visiting COTS shelters and programs.
The family-friendly event features children's activities, face painting, free Ben & Jerry's ice cream for participants, and a performance by American Idol Finalist and Anti-Bullying Champion, James Durbin. The event is a safe way to educate children about those who are in need and introduce them to ways they can make a difference in their community.
All money raised by walkers goes directly toward providing services. There is no minimum donation for participation. For walkers who elect to take the challenge and raise $1,000 as an individual or a team a generous grant from an anonymous donor will match all donations up to $15,000.
Check in begins at 1 p.m.; walk begins at 2 p.m.
