Monday June 8'th, 7-9.

Have you ever been curious about how we came up with the regular process surrounding the disposal of our loved ones in this country? Did you know that embalming was invented during the Civil War because train conductors refused to allow for decomposing bodies to be transported back to their families because of the smell of decay? Author Caitlin Doughty will entertain and inform you about all things death, both in this country and around the world.

This book is not for the squeamish but as Caitlin says: "The closer we come to understanding it(death), the closer we come to understanding ourselves".

Unfortunately, since all interlibrary loan is currently not up and running, the library is not able to supply you with a copy of this book, however, there are many good resources for both eBooks and audio books these days. It is currently available through your library at RB Digital as an audio book.

Let me know if you want to join us (call:387-4682) and happy reading!
