We may look at the Trumps and Bolsonaros with disdain, but they are indeed carrying out late stage capitalism; whether its removing regulations to big business, subsidizing the fossil fuel industry, or providing stimulus checks to increase consumerism, they are keeping this conservative brand of capitalism afloat at all costs to humanity and the planet.

On Monday May 18, from 5:30 to 7pm, Transition Town Jericho hosts UVM's Margit Burgess to discuss the implications of continuous economic growth. Margit is an advocate for socially just and ecologically sound economic systems, and a board member for Better (not Bigger) Vermont, a non-profit promoting steady state economies.

Her presentation will include foundations of ecological economics and possible courses of action for Vermont communities to become more resilient in the future. Bring your ideas and questions for the discussion period that follows.
