South End Community Food Pickup and More!

Dear Neighbors,

The South End Community Food Pickup is this Saturday from 9-11am in the Champlain Elementary parking lot. We will have food staples in reusable grocery bags, grocery gift cards, masks made by many volunteers and coordinated by the City of Burlington Resource and Recovery Center, and books for all ages from the Fletcher Free Library.

Anyone in need is welcome and encouraged to come by on Saturday morning.

Caroline Aubry, the Membership Manager from City Market will be on hand to help get the word out about City Market's Food for All program, which is a free discount program for eligible Vermonters who receive 3SquaresVT, WIC, SSI, or SSDI. This program gives shoppers a 15% discount in produce and bulk and a 10% discount on all their shopping store wide for a whole year.

Food products and gift cards are being provided, in part, by a generous contribution and collaboration with City Market, along with support from your South End City Councilors, Chip Mason, Joan Shannon and myself.

For anyone who would like to donate to the event, we are gladly accepting grocery gift cards that we can provide to those who attend the event and food non-perishable donations that will go to Feeding Chittenden. Just come by on Saturday morning.

We will look forward to seeing you on Saturday morning.

My best,
Karen
