VILLAGE PAVING/MAIN STREET LIGHTING & SIDEWALK PUBLIC INFO ZOOM MEETING TONIGHT

Work began this week on Bristol's Main Street Lighting and Sidewalk Project with removal of the crumbling brick pavers on both sides of Main Street and trenching for installation of new wiring, lights, and stamped concrete pavers. It was intended to begin in April, but like so much else, all construction projects were shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This project has been combined with the long-awaited VTrans paving project from Airport Drive to the Lord's Prayer Rock.

The purpose of this meeting is to present the public with information on the roadway and sidewalk project in downtown Bristol. What is proposed? What is the schedule? How will Main Street businesses, residents, and neighbors be affected? Who to contact with questions or concerns? These questions and other information will be part of a public information Zoom meeting being hosted by VTrans Thursday, May 14, 7:00pm.

Why wasn't this public information meeting held before the project started? Until the Governor's stay at home orders were eased recently allowing construction projects to resume, much of this information was not available. In addition to trying to make up for lost time, the contractors needed to mobilize quickly to also take as much advantage of this period of time when some things are still shut down or reduced in services to minimize disruption.
