Celebrate Spring with Artful Eating and Gardening: April 11
Spring is on the way and the Vermont Community Gardening Network invites you to an evening of food, drink, and garden dreams at Gardeners Supply in Williston on Friday, April 11. The event features stunning tablescapes and local refreshments, remarks by acclaimed food and garden writers Ed Behr and Ellen Ecker Ogden, and the company of gardening and fresh food enthusiasts eager for the first signs of spring.
From 4:30 to 7 p.m. you can tour the lush, fragrant Gardeners Supply greenhouse and enjoy appetizers and desserts made from scratch using delicious local foods from Sugarsnap, and a cash bar. At 6 p.m., Ed Behr, author of 50 Foods: The Essentials of Good Taste and The Art of Eating Cookbook, and Ellen Ecker Ogden, garden designer and author of The Complete Kitchen Garden, will speak about the joy and beauty of fresh food. Both will also sign books and answer questions throughout the evening.
In addition to great gardening and cooking inspiration, guests will take home free seeds from High Mowing Organic Seed Company.
Tickets are $15 in advance / $18 at the door, with proceeds benefiting VCGN's work with Vermont’s community and school gardens. The first 100 ticket buyers will be entered in a special raffle. This event is generously hosted by Gardeners Supply at its Williston store, 472 Marshall Ave., and Sugarsnap, with support from Phoenix Books of Essex and Burlington.
