An Open-Air Meet and Greet is the 2020 form of traditional door-to-door campaigning. It's the opportunity to meet a candidate for public office and talk with them about the issues that concern you. Sally has made the commitment to run for the Vermont House of Representatives for the Rutland-Bennington district, and she is committed to meet and listen to her neighbors and community members.
Sally is adhering to our Governor's adjustment of the "stay home and stay safe" policy with a series of open tent events. As Farmer's Markets are opening this weekend, with specific guidelines, Sally will be available at a community "Market of Ideas." Farmers' Markets will allow the exchange of food, which is certainly "essential." The exchange of ideas and information is "essential" to our political process. Abraham Lincoln articulated this concept most succinctly when he said, "Let the people know the facts, and the country will be safe."
The "Rally for Sally" tent will be located where Sally is able to meet and greet in open air. You can just drive by, if that's what will make you comfortable, or there is parking available. We will follow the safety protocols: wear face coverings, sanitize the table often, and stay a distance of 6 feet from our guests. We will ask that you follow these guides as well. Please stop by to talk with Sally or pick up information you can take with you.
The "Rally for Sally" team plans to hold "Open-Air Meet and Greets" in all the towns that comprise our district: Middletown Springs, Pawlet, Rupert, Tinmouth and Wells. Watch for announcements of where we will be from day-to-day, week-to-week.
