Johnson Works Presents: Downtown Food Bank Parade, 1PM on Saturday, May 2nd.
In support of the Johnson Food Shelf and its mission to feed our most vulnerable community members, Johnson Works invites you to safely participate in our first-ever Food Bank Parade- complete with decorated vehicles, candy and lots of honks, waves and smiles!
The parade with start across from Johnson Elementary and procession across town, picking up food donations at the following locations:
Legion Field (Community Oven area)
Village Green (Painted park bench)
Municipal Building (Side door near sitting area)
Railroad & Clark Ave. (corner by Stop sign)
Alternatively, if you live along the parade route (JES down School Street, Pearl St, Main Street, or Railroad Street) please feel free to leave any donations you may have at the curbside for us to pick up.
The Food Shelf currently needs the following items: cereal, canned fruit, canned meats, cheese, peanut butter, canned soups, baked beans, rice mixes, laundry soap, paper towels and toilet paper. They would also like any and all "extra" items people may have, like cake and brownie mixes, to be able to add more to the food boxes they are putting together for people through the COVID-19 crisis.
We've been so inspired to see our community come together over the last couple of months and look forward to supporting the Food Shelf in this fun, festive way!
