Today, the Chancellor withdrew his proposal to close NVU. This is a huge step in the right direction, but now the real work begins. There will need to be change in order to make sure NVU thrives for years to come. We all know our state colleges are the economic anchors of our rural economy. They bring young people to Vermont, they provide educational opportunities and jobs. We have received hundreds of emails and phone calls from community members telling us to save NVU, but how? We know there are many creative ideas in our community, and we want to hear them. Please register at https://forms.gle/dwrD86KcqkQmL3FZ8 to join us for a "Pitch Session" this Saturday, 4/25, from 9:00am to 10:30 on Zoom. (It will also be live-streamed on YouTube). We will be joined by Rep. Giambatista, who serves as a trustee on the VSCS board. Each person will be given a few minutes to pitch. We are all in this together.
In Service,
Reps. Dan Noyes, Matt Hill, and Lucy Rogers, and Sen. Rich Westman
