Vermont Humanities Digital Event with David MaCaulay

Past event
Apr 22, 2020, 7 to 8 PM

The Vermont Humanities has been presenting digital programs on Wednesday evenings. Upcoming on this Wednesday is one of my favorite authors, David Macaulay. Macaulay is the award-winning author and illustrator of Castle, Cathedral, and The Way We Work. In his latest book, Crossing On Time, he illuminates the building of the steamship SS United States. The famed vessel was the very one on which the author emigrated to America as a ten-year-old.

Watch Crossing On Time on our website or on our Facebook page beginning at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 22.

Macaulay gave this talk at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA to coincide with an exhibition of his Crossing On Time illustrations. See vermonthumanities.org

Archived Digital Presentations include:
Celebrating E.B. White by Nancy Jay Crumbine (presented on March 30)
Daybreak Express: Duke Ellington's Train-Inspired Compositions by Reuben Jackson (March 31)
How to Love a Country by poet Richard Blanco (April 3)
We Are All Fast Food Workers Now with Annelise Orleck (April 15)
