COVID-19 is a difficult situation for the best of us, but for individuals struggling with Substance Use Disorder, it can be terrifying. Substance use recovery relies heavily on social connection and support, which is hard to come by these days. Luckily, we are all still here, even in isolation!
Americorps VISTA is organizing weekly recovery calls to support people in recovery from substance use during these difficult times. We'll all chat about recovery, our lives, and what we're doing to take care of ourselves and stay busy during isolation. Anyone who identifies as struggling with any form of substance use is welcome, regardless of recovery status, background, or recovery path. This is not a 12-Step meeting- it's a friendly, confidential space to stay connected with people with struggles similar to your own.
These calls are being run through a free conferencing platform in order to make it easier for folks to join via any phone- flip phones and corded phones included! Anyone interested in joining can call 717-275-8940 and use the code 540 1814# to join in! Please spread the word to folks who you think may want connection and support.
