POSTPONED with New DATE To-be-determined: Community Forum on Wellness and Youth Substance Use Prevention
Dear Community,
As we are all working hard to try to limit the spread of the new Corona Virus, or Covid-19, we will *not* be holding this event on Wednesday, the 18 of March at the Winooski School District. Please be on the lookout for upcoming events when the threat of this disease has passed. We wish everyone well, and hope you will be in touch virtually or via phone in the mean time.
Take care,
Kate Nugent
Executive Director, Winooski Partnership for Prevention
Event: Mar 18, 2020, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
In 2017, a quarter of Winooski High School students thought there was little to no risk from binge drinking every weekend and 50 percent of students thought there was little to no risk from regular marijuana use, which are both proven to negatively impact young people's developing brains.
Let's join together as a community to discuss how we can ensure all students get the support they need to make healthy choices. There is a seat for everyone at the table.
The community forum will be held in the school cafeteria, Wednesday, March 18 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Schedule:
6:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Free dinner from local restaurants
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM: Presentation and break out sessions; child care will be available for children ages 5-11. Please RSVP ahead of time to 802-655-4565.
Translation services in Nepali, Swahili, Arabic, Vietnamese, Burmese and Mai Mai will also be available.
Winooski Partnership for Prevention is co-sponsoring the forum with the Chittenden County Opioid Alliance of the United Way of Northwest Vermont, City of Winooski and Winooski School District.
