Would you consider a new or used electric vehicle? Electric vehicles have increased in range and have become more affordable. The operating cost is much less than the gas car as the electric is much less costly per mile than a gas vehicle and it has little maintenance requirements. Whatever extra you might pay for an EV initially you will likely recover in a relatively short period from the savings. A 250 mile range is available in a car that approaches the cost of a similar gas vehicle with the federal credit ($7,500 for most all-electrics), utility incentives, State incentives and manufacturer's rebates. Please come out to the event to take a ride and get your questions answered by owners. Would these vehicles fit your needs? Transportation is a major source of Vermont's carbon emissions (53%). We need to substantially reduce these emissions by conversion to electric vehicles.
