Disability Awareness Day is cancelled for 2020.

The Vermont Coalition for Disability Rights (VCDR) has decided to cancel Disability Awareness Day at the Statehouse that had been scheduled for this Thursday, March 12, 2020. We are doing this in light of concerns around the coronavirus and people with disabilities and elders being more at risk of getting very sick from the virus and potentially not fully recovering. Disability Awareness Day is an important opportunity that brings together over 300 people with disabilities and allies annually. The decision to cancel this event was a difficult one. We know our important advocacy work needs to continue. The number to leave a message for your legislator is 802-828-2228, and to find out how to contact your own legislator use the following link: Legislator Directory. We continue to fight for Justice and Access for All!! We do hope to have to have a large event this summer in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the ADA.
