This Thursday, March 12 from 7-8:30 PM at the Plainfield Town Hall Opera House: "Emerald ash borer and roadside ash management in Plainfield" (originally scheduled in February). Emerald ash borer, a non-native and invasive insect affecting all species ash trees, has already been detected in Plainfield. In anticipation of ash tree decline, the town is discussing how to best manage ash trees along public roads. Join Vermont Urban & Community Forestry Program member Joanne Garton to learn more about emerald ash borer, its management as related to public trees, and the results of the 2019 roadside ash tree inventory conducted by the program. This talk will also include information that will be of interest to woodland owners and anyone concerned about the ash trees on their property. Refreshments. Sponsored by the Plainfield Conservation Commission.
