Leap Year is special....
Did you know that there's a tradition of women proposing to men on Leap Day or Bachelor's Day? It dates all the way back to Ireland in the 5th century and has been part of popular culture ever since. Postcards from over 100 years ago, Al Capp's Li'l Abner comic strip from the mid-20th century, Sadie Hawkins Day events and dances where girls ask out the boys – all were part of the Leap Year balancing tradition. Come see the postcards and other Leap Year materials and hear stories about famous and local folks who participated in such role reversals.

Sharing stories with Lucinda Cockrell, with coffee and light refreshments. 1-2:30 pm
