Book groups are great, but we don't all have time to finish a book on deadline. Or we like getting reading suggestions, but don't want to be told we HAVE to read a certain book with our valuable reading time. Or maybe we love to read, but we don't really love having to come up with something to say about what we read. So let's take the pressure out of book club!
If the idea of meeting up with other readers, grabbing a beverage, swapping a few reading ideas, and then maybe having time to simply read appeals to you, please join the Waterbury Public Library in the Zenbarn bar (179 Guptil Road, Waterbury Center) on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5:45-6:45. Bring what you are currently reading, or maybe even a couple of suggestions for other readers. Join the discussion if you like or just listen. A staff member from the library will be on hand with a collection of books to share. You can even check one out if you like! (Imagine- checking out books at the bar! Now that has GOT to be someone's dream come true.)
And...the Zenbarn offers live music starting at 7:00 on Wednesday nights. Maybe stay after book group, enjoy some tunes and make a night of it!
First meeting of the No Pressure Book Group is March 18, 5:45-6:45. Please join us!
