The Montpelier Chamber Orchestra (MCO) presents its spring concert, "Further Afield," on Saturday, March 21, 2020. Under the direction of Music Director Anne Decker, the broad-ranging program includes the premiere of a new composition for flute and string orchestra by Vermont composer David Gunn, featuring principal flutist Laurel Ann Maurer. The orchestra will also play a new piece by Brooklyn-based composer and 2019 Hildegard Competition winner, inti figgis-vizueta. Composers Gunn and figgis-vizueta will join audience and orchestra members for a public reception and discussion about their music at The Garage Cultural Center after the first performance, from 5:45 - 6:45 pm, by donation. Concert tickets are free for ages 18 and under, $10 for seniors, and $15 for adults. Concerts will be at 4 pm and 7:30 pm at the City Hall Arts Center in Montpelier.
