First Saturday of March brings more contra dancing! This dance will feature Nils Fredland calling, with great live music by the Gaslight Tinkers, a hot group that blends traditional fiddle music with African, Caribbean, Reggae, Latin & Funk rhythms. Great music for dancing!

Nils, one of the most popular callers around, will teach the "newcomers" session at about 7:45 PM, with his relaxed and friendly teaching style. It's the best way to get involved from the beginning! Nils will teach and call enjoyable, social dances for everyone from 8:00 to 11:00. We're always welcoming new dancers, as well as people that have been coming for years—and are still having fun!

Join us beforehand for the Grange "Community Potluck Dinner from 6:00 to 7:00 at the Grange Hall! Share your favorite dish, or bring something simple, and enjoy good food and friendly people.

Tips for dancers: bring clean shoes for dancing on "one of the best dance floors in New England", or clean them up with our tools. Wear light, comfortable clothing. Bring a water bottle, or keep hydrated with our water fountains. Come by yourself and find dance partners in our friendly dance community, and bring your friends along! All of our dances are called using the role terms "Larks & Ravens".

Capital City Grange Hall is at 6612 Rt. 12/Northfield St., just south of the I-89 overpass, 1 mile south of Montpelier. Admission—basic price is $10 for adults, $5 for kids & low-income, $15 from "Dance Supporters"! This dance is part of the year-round series that has been at the Grange Hall--since 1983.
