Past event
Mar 5, 2020, 6:30 to 7:30 PM

Join the Lake Champlain Basin Program for a free talk about the Impacts of Road Salt on Lake Trout in Mirror Lake (adjacent to downtown Lake Placid). Why does this matter? Chloride levels are rising in many local lakes and rivers. Mirror Lake flows towards the Chubb River which feeds into the West Branch of the Ausable River, then downhill to Lake Champlain. Brendan Wiltse, Director of Science Stewardship for the Ausable River Association will summarize the habitat concerns and discuss how the community is working together to reduce the road salt impact.

Homemade desserts are ready by 6:15. the program runs 6:30-7:30 p.m on 3/5. Location: 54 West Shore Road, Grand Isle, just north of the LCT ferry entrance. About 30 minutes from the South End. More info: 372-3213, www.lcbp.org.
