GENTLE YOGA FOR SENIORS at Twin Valley Senior Center

6 Wednesdays 4:00-5:00 p.m. March 11-April 15
Gentle Yoga is a slowing down, moving meditation with an emphasis on integrating the breath and body to be in the present moment, allowing us to really listen to our bodies' needs. Conscious breathing has the profound effect of relaxing the nervous system which reduces pain and inflammation and calms our emotions. We will also work with improving our balance and strengthening our core. Join us as we practice mindfulness and active relaxation. This class will include getting up from and down to the floor. Students will be encouraged and supported in adapting the practice to meet individual needs.
Ragan Sheridan, is an experienced registered yoga teacher and a certified yoga therapist. She has been teaching yoga and specializing in yoga for seniors, yoga for chronic pain, injuries, illness, anxiety and depression since 2006 in addition to offering small group yoga therapy programs and 1:1 yoga therapy sessions. She is certified through Integrative Yoga Therapy and through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Please bring your own equipment if you have it: a mat, strap, two blocks and a blanket.
