Playing for Good, Chittenden County-based string quintet, presents "Pieces and Poems" — a performance pairing contemporary, local poetry with chamber works for string ensemble. As part of the Pierson Library's "2nd Wednesdays" series, Playing for Good (PFG) has partnered with four celebrated local writers and paired a work of their's with a piece of ours. The result is an hour-long performance of narrative beauty, personal journey and striking depth that will take you from Renaissance Italy to Shelburne Farms to all places beyond words.

Works of poetry by Rick Bessette, Julie Cadwallader Staub, Stephen Kiernan and Susan Kittredge will be performed alongside pieces by Philip Glass, Jacques Arcadelt, the Danish String Quartet and the Fretless. Claudia Marshall will be our guest narrator.

Playing for Good: Jane Kittredge & Brooke Quiggins Saulnier, violins; Ana Ruesink, viola; John Dunlop, cello; Kyle Saulnier, bass
