St. Jacob Eastern Orthodox Church invites all our friends and neighbors in the Northfield area to a lenten day of reflection on Sat. March 7 from 11am to 5pm. (See description below.) There will be a vesper service at 5pm for those who wish to stay. Lunch will be provided. The Church is located on Rt12 in Northfield Falls near the Rustic restaurant.

Everyone believes that helping the poor and suffering is a good thing to do. But is there anything particularly "Christian" about providing material relief to those in need? Does our faith in Jesus Christ add anything new or unique to the conversation about social action? Is ministry to the poor and suffering essential to Church life? This retreat will say "yes" to each of these questions. We will also explore basic strategies for strengthening outreach to those whom Christ calls "the least of these my brethren" (Matthew 25:40).
