Kirtan is a call and response practice chanting mantras and sacred songs accompanied by musical instruments and percussion. We will sing mostly in Sanskrit, as is the tradition, and will also sing in English and other languages. Each repetition of the mantra is a way to gather our awareness and concentration and to be fully present in the moment. This is a heart practice, bringing us into contact with our own true nature. It is a beautiful and powerful way to be in community. No experience required and all are welcome.

About Jeanette Bacevius
Jeanette Bacevius has been chanting kirtan since the early 2000s. She has led kirtan at Evolution Yoga, Yoga Vermont, the Vermont Hindu Temple, All Souls Interfaith Gathering, Vermantra, the Burlington Earth Clock, and more. Jeanette has a special way of leading where people feel welcomed and are lovingly encouraged to chant from their hearts.
